That Manly Lady

I've always thought this a fantastic story, especially being as how women were expected to be "seen and not heard" in the 1890's.
And it is TRUE!
This piece was published in the Grand Forks Gazette last year.

Thanks to Doreen at the Grand Forks Historical Soc. I was able to finally get a name for this remarkable lady. She was "Sarah Jay" Manly and would have been about 22 yrs. old at the time of this incident. , WOW!

The Poet

This is my first ever try at a Shakespearian Sonnet! One of my overeducated brothers  asked if I ever wrote anything other than Ballads. If I had ever wrote a Sonnet? This is my version of a Sonnet. I hope you enjoy it, especially you readers of Shakespeare!

The Eternal Protestor.

My protest song about the "I'll protest anything" type of people. I'm all for looking after the earth, but we are also a part of this planet and its Eco system too.  Every creature on this earth uses the natural resources to benefit and improve their lives. That is what being part of an Eco system is all about. Enjoy Mother Nature, use her resources, but look after her. It'll Work!  Lets try and get along!

"Klondike Joe"

This  is a story about "Joseph Whiteside Boyle" Arguably one of Canada's greatest pioneers and heros. Honoured all over Europe, but mainly forgotten here.
I strongly encourage everyone to look up Joe Boyle and read his fascinating exploits!
